Dog Walking

Visits can be arranged to suit the requirements needed for your dog. Young puppies, nursing bitches or older dogs can be catered for. Whether it is a toilet stop in the garden to break up the day or taking out for a walk we can offer tailored visits for you. Dogs can be walked with other dogs if they are sociable or a separate plan put in place to combine walks & social skills to help your dog become friendlier. Other social skills can include travel within vehicles, road walking for traffic nervousness or any other issues that you think your dog may have.

Pet Sitting

Caring for your pets in within their home. Small holdings & Kennel Establishments also catered for. Daily walking, feeding & company while at work or full care while you’re away. Reduces stress so pets are not moved into boarding facilities. Ideal for people with more than one type of pet. Keeps your home safe while you are away. All types of pets catered for & qualified to administer medications. Small pets can be boarded at my home, specialist home boarding for specific breeds, collection/delivery services available & all services are fully insured for peace of mind.

Microchipping

Now a legal obligation for owners & breeders. Cats, dogs, rabbits, ferrets & chinchillas are implanted with a small microchip under the skin. Quick & relatively painless procedure helps protect the animal from loss or theft for life. Registration with a global database. Home visit making it convenient & less stressful to your pet. One animal to a whole litter. Teddy Bears can also be microchipped helping the police to return stolen bears back to the rightful owner!

Behaviour & Obedience Training

Behaviour Consultations, Obedience & Socialisation & Puppy Training. Currently are all offered on a 1-2-1 basis. Behaviour problems including destructive, aggressive, protective behaviours & training problems.

Pet Transport

Transport within a secured & insured vehicle. To the vets, training sessions or relocation. Delivery & collection of pets nationwide & into Europe. Qualified & experienced in the transportation of many animals. 1 x passenger may accompany pets whilst in transit at your own risk & full assistance with pets at all times. Most taxi companies do not take pets in their vehicles. Excellent references available on request for long distance travel

Secure Field

Akna has a superb, secure and secluded dog exercise area. The venue is strictly booked by appointment only. Designed to be used by people who wish to exercise or train their dogs in a safe and secure environment. You may have rescue dogs, breeds that can not normally go off lead or have an issue you and your dog are working on. It may be that you and other people that you know want to meet up with your dogs for socialisation. Education and Events

Akna have been involved with attending educational and public events since 2004. This includes attending schools and colleges, public sled dog demonstrations, charity events, introducing our two rare and wonderful breeds the Canadian Eskimo Dog and Czechoslovakian Wolfdog on an educational platform as well as meet and greet. We also are available to book for weddings, birthdays, special events such as filming or opening nights. Christmas maybe to help Santa and Halloween themed events.
